Industrial Linux Projects often require an integrated development environment that comprises tools like compiler, editor and debugger. Eclipse is an open framework, which includes the C/C++ Development Toolkit CDT and provides all necessary parts of an integrated solution.

Being an Open Source Service Provider, Pengutronix offers installation and maintenance of Eclipse working environments for Embedded Linux projects.

Eclipse Features

CDT: The C/C++ Development Toolkit consists of an editor, project manager and mechanisms for compiling and debugging with an integrated debugger. In combination with OSELAS^®.BSP(), Embedded Linux projects can be debugged directly in-system.

Revision Control: Eclipse offers plugins for all major revision control systems. This allows having continuous control over the code base of an embedded project using a revision control process.

Open Architecture: Eclipse is an Open Source project and available without license fees. It is possible to integrate all freely available Eclipse plugins into OSELAS^®.Eclipse().

Pengutronix Services

Customizing: Pengutronix provides developer working environment based on Eclipse, which are equipped with customer specific packages of the Eclipse distribution.

Training: To get a quick start with Eclipse, Pengutronix offers special workshops and helps getting in touch with the debugger, makefile infrastructure, etc.

Alternatives: For working environments that do not fulfill the resource requirements of Eclipse or for developers who do not need graphical environments to be productive, Pengutronix also offers the vi and Emacs configurations and hacks with the highest geek factor.
